Coaching or therapy - which is right for me?
In a nutshell, coaching focuses on your present circumstances and future aspirations. We dig deep into who you want to be and where you want to go. We will touch on your past briefly for context, but we will not set up our tent and live there. Coaching is appropriate when you need to clarify goals and identify obstacles that are blocking you from having your dream life.
In traditional therapy/counseling sessions, we focus on getting to the root of your current struggles. If you've been experiencing troublesome symptoms for months or years, it is likely that you would benefit from beginning with therapy to unravel where the pain, anxiety, stress, depression, trauma or other feelings originate. You can then understand how and why you've developed certain patterns of thought and behavior and begin to have a healthier relationship with yourself and with others.
Once you have moved beyond this initial healing work, coaching can be very beneficial to help you shape the rest of your life; the life in which you aren’t carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders and you aren’t carrying a backpack full of old hurts and resentment.
Am I the right fit for you?
I am constantly learning the latest strategies and techniques to help you live your most inspired and healthy life. We will look at your current habits, patterns, and beliefs to determine where small shifts can be made to help you find more joy, ease, and confidence. Working in partnership, we will discover the things that can help you make the most rapid and long-lasting changes to your body and mind.
I am also a wife and mom and understand the considerable pressure that families are under as we re-adjust to living in these complicated times.
But perhaps most importantly, I’ve been in your shoes and know what it feels like to have anxiety, depression, fear, and trauma rule your life. To feel like nothing will ever get better and that there is no hope. But fortunately, I came through to the other side of this and know with all of my being that it can and will get better if you’re willing to take a chance on yourself.
Whether we work together in a coaching relationship, a therapeutic relationship, or as yoga instructor and student, my main goal is to hold the space for you to create and begin living the healthiest and most fulfilling life possible.
As the definition of what a family is has shifted and evolved, we’ve lost the deep connection we used to have to others when we were part of large social groups, tribes, or communities. We aren’t meant to go through this life without adequate support and feeling alone.
